Harris County ESD 48 needs your help!! If you are looking for a way to make a life-saving impact and can spare 30 minutes on Saturday please come out to our Station 5 complex where Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center (GCRBC) will be collecting donations inside our Administration building at the Station 5 Complex on Morton
This Blood Drive is more important than ever as earlier this month we quietly became the first Fire Department based EMS to begin utilizing whole blood in the field with our paramedics. (Read more here: http://www.emsworld.com/news/218531/tex-countys-ems-agency-and-fire-dept-first-us-deploy-whole-blood) This new advancement in care is dependent on GCRBC having the blood donations they need to support this ground breaking program and Hurricane Harvey has severely upset their donation levels.
Please help us tomorrow (Saturday, 9//2/17) when we will be hosting this special Harvey emergency blood drive at our Station 5 location, 21201 Morton Rd. Katy, TX 77449 on Saturday, September 2nd, from 9am-3pm. For the month of September, every successful donor will receive a pair of “Type Matters” socks, in addition, our friends at Firehouse Subs on Westgreen have provided us with gift cards for a free sub to the first 20 successful donors.
To speed up the process you can schedule your on time slot by using this link: https://www.commitforlife.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/264481. You can speed up the process even further by either logging into http://www.giveblood.org/cflexpress/ and filling out their pre-screening questions or if you have never donated before you can still pre-screen using this link: https://cflexpress.giveblood.org/CFLexpress/Files/Start/index.htm. (If you cannot donate tomorrow but would still like to support this new life-saving program you can donate at the GCRBC’s local Katy Neighborhood Donor Center at 1575 S. Grand Parkway, Suite 600, Katy, TX 77494 and give them our donor code )
Thank you for all you do for our amazing Katy community and we hope to see you tomorrow. #KatyStrong
