Harris County ESD 48 Fire Department has responded to a request for an ambulance and crew to join the Harris County Strike Team on a multiple day deployment to assist with the state’s flood relief efforts.

Ambulance 5, staffed by Paramedic Jay Ratcliff and Sharief Zahra, left at 9:00am Tuesday morning (3/15/16) to meet up with other Strike Team members and from rally point they will head to Orange, Texas as part of Texas Emergency Medical Task Force 6 (EMTF6).

The goal of the EMTF program is to provide a well coordinated response, offering rapid professional medical assistance to emergency operations during large scale incidents like the flooding in Orange and surrounding areas. Harris County ESD 48 Fire Department stands ready to assist in any way we can to help those impacted be our recent severe weather events.
